January 25, 1999 Monday Om Ganesha Morning Prayer.
Namaste my Chelas When my Swami was teaching me about Guru in the early seventies, I remember that the way he was talking was so filled with passion He rarely showed me passion, as Swami was and is very stoic. He would say to me that the chela must develop devotion to the Guru. Chelas must realize that it is the Divine Self who as taken form as a human being in order to lead the Chela to his or her higher self. The Guru continues to enlighten the chela by his or her example. I remember thinking, what a job this Guru business is, Thank God I will never be one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once the Chelas begin to see beyond the body and mind masks and look for the Spirit in the Guru, then the journey truly begins. My prayer for all of you this morning is that you begin to feel ever so slightly an infinity with the Guru, a closeness that you have never felt before. Every once in a while this day, see if you can get the scent of the Guru. The Divine Fragrance is that which holds your senses in a very aware way. She who is terribly fierce as Mother Kali has the scent of Jasmine that grows around the cremation grounds. As you breathe in this scent you will feel so very close to the Black Mother. It is she who is Ultimate whom I want you to feel this day.
I do not know when today you will get this morning prayer. I will hold it in my heart until I can send it to all of you. Remember I am with you always. I can not tell you how much I miss my Blessed Kashi. I feel it always in my being. Love Ma Jai Kali Ma Ki Jai
