Om Ganesha. February 8, 1999 Morning Prayer. Namaste my chelas. The breath is that which bounds you to the Guru’s feet and Mother Kali’s heart. The other night in darshan, I looked at my chelas and said, do you realize that you sit here in the Dattatreya Temple and the Mother Ma breathes out a split second before you breathe in. Or even together or after you take a breath. In other words what i said is that you are taking in the breath that the Mother breathes out. The breath that touches the sacredness of the Guru. This I learnt from my Baba many years ago as I sat at his feet.
One time many years ago there was a holy man who saved the life of a young kings son. The king said, holy one I want to give you Golden Slippers. The holy one said King if you give me golden slippers then you must give me a golden robe to wear and if you give me a golden robe to wear then I will then have to carry it all, and I would not like that. Then you must give me a home to put my golden shoes and golden robes. Then I will need a wife to help me clean the home that houses the shoes and the robes. Then I will need a horse driven golden cart and then and then and then. Now my lord said the holy one, I will tell you what will make me happy and this way you can repay me for saving your son. What is it holy one said the king. Let me give you something and that will make me very happy. I give you the awareness of the breath. And this you need nothing for only what God gave you at birth. The king was so touched at the simplicity of it all that he gave up every thing and he and his family became renunciates ruling the kingdom as holy people, filled with awareness. Such joy came to the kingdom. Such peace came to the lands. This is what happens when one becomes aware.
Breath Breath, Breath, the great gift of God. Do the breath I gave you my chelas the flowing River Breath and know the Great Goddess the Ganga.
I love you all so very much. Love Ma
