Om Ganesha, Namaste my Durgaya Kali, What a great question, The way you keep life from becoming your enemy is to simply take each day on the wings of your breath. Now I know that it sounds crazy especially when sickness strikes out like a rattler in the night. Yet to not acknowledge the moment is to not be fully armed to strike back the enemy and the enemy is not life, it is being consumed by life. I remember being very hungry and afraid while chews was dying under the board walk. Big Henry said: child whatcha crying for? go and light that fire in the ash can. I realized that I had to go on, no matter the fear, the hunger, the cold, to sit in the fear, was the worst thing I could do. So you ask how do you not make life your enemy, I say to you my chela, make life your friend. Even if you can not move and are bed ridden or all alone, feel the breath coming in and out and then you know that there is life. Consuming life becomes a full time job. Keep moving toward this goal. I am with you. Look out your window and see the sun begin to rise. Look at all the people that have been kind to you this life. Be grateful that you sit at the feet of your Guru. She is part of your life. In between all the sorrow, there are moments of joy. A prostitute whose son was beaten to death by her John once told me this on the hot steaming streets of Brooklyn. I never forgot it. In between al the sorrow, there are moments of joy. I love you and do Puja for your family all the time. Love Ma Jai Kali Ma Ki Jai
