Om Ganesha, Oct. 12, 1999 Morning Pujas and Prayers from our Sacred and Blessed Kashi Ashram on the second day of Durga Puja,
When one learns from his own ego how to live, there is darkness in his or her life. Yet if one can learn from the Light of Mother Kali, the darkness disappears in the Light of the Great Black Mother.
The world may think that a yogi is someone who sits in a dark cave of in the mountains in the cold of winter contemplating the way of things. This can be true yet in most cases the true yogi can be an ordinary woman or man leading a spiritual life at the feet of the Mother Guru and living it well. To be a Mothers Yogi, one must become a master of objects of the world.
This comes about from learning about deep detachments.
My Swami Nityananda, has taught me well about the Chidakasha, the heart space in or over the head.
This great and holy space of detachment can be meditated upon as one throws the rice in the Sacred Dhuni, these nights of Durga Puja.
The Mother will always encourage you to master your senses and not let the senses master you.
These days of the Mother, throw into Her Dhuni before the Great Lord Shiva one thing that you are attached to and see how wonderfully light you will feel.
You will begin to feel a simplicity in your philosophy. Life will be easier lived. When giving up even the smallest attachment, you are really giving up a small piece of illusion.
Discover the stream of spiritual life at the feet of your Guru these days. Let the Mother Kali take your fears and depressions, and grief’s.
These things are attachments.
These nights of the Mother are good nights to shift your values and become that yogi, you always wanted to be, free of attachments.
I ask the Mother Kali to raise her Sword of detachment and place it gently in your hand, so you too can have subtle discrimination. These are my Pujas and these are my Prayers. I love you all so very much.
Love Ma Jai Kali Ma Ki Jai
