Om Ganesha
Afternoon Pujas and Prayers
Feb. 16, 2009
Namaste my chelas all over the world.
Yesterday’s Darshan really got so many of my chela’s thinking.
The idea that the sound of Om has five different parts or sounds excited so many of you.
It is said that Lord Brahma Himself did pujas in Kashi for a thousand years when out of the earth came this great light.
According to my Diana Eck, my Ganga Ma who is a renowned professor at Harvard, This Great Light was Kashi’s first Linga and the linga was not built but it appeared on its own accord.
In this light Brahma first heard the syllable A then U, and then M. then two other sounds came from the great sound of the Universe, Omkar.
Five sounds were heard all over India, so distinct.
It is said by the great scholars that Vishnu is the A, Brahma is the U, and then M who is Rudra Shiva the other two sounds came from the brightness in the center of the linga. signifying transcendence.
The sound of AUM is often given as the sound of the Universe and this appears in the Mandukya Upanishad.
It is said that Lord Shiva is the center of all sound.
In Kashi the Light, the Linga and the Sound all merged into one.
Lord Shiva Himself loves granting liberation through this sound and the worshiping of the Linga.
On other paths and religions the sound of AUM becomes part of the mysticism taught by that particular path.
Lord Shiva always gave the sound of Om before all the mantras to the Gods and Goddess like OM SHRIM MAHA LAXMI YEI SWAHA.
Many paths say, in the beginning there was the sound and then the different sounds of the Universe is given.
It is exciting to know all this wisdom and I am happy to pass it down to you.
Yet I have found many years ago or was it life times when given the choice of teaching the scriptures or living the scriptures I chose at the Feet Of My Baba WE WOULD LIVE THE SCRIPTURES.
It is hard for someone who is dying from hunger and watching their children go hungry to listen to the different sounds of the universe.
Food becomes the sound of the Universe.
And then the spirit can be taught in a way of an interfaith teaching or to reach out and learn what or who the person goes to in the time of need, with out judgment of any kind.
It is Mother Kali who takes the pain of the now out of the seekers heart.
It is Mother Laxmi who brings prosperity of health and wealth.
Yet all come to the call of one who has the deepest amount of gratitude.
Having gratitude when things are going great is easy, but to have gratitude in the darkness of these times is what the Gods and Goddesses love.
Perhaps it is the Christ that brings you comfort or Allah, this is why I take you all into the Formless where there is no time nor space or form only the gratitude and light of your last prayer. There is never a time to think you should bring others to your religion because you think your way is the right one.
It is all about spirituality and the deepest part of your heart.
I love you my chelas with all my heart.
Love Ma
