Afternoon Pujas and Prayers
December 5, 2009
Namaste my chelas all over the world.
Every moment holds a message that you need to hear.
What ever the message is It is yours when you are willing to be aware.
At times you have to be fearless to face the moments message
At times if aware you can find more strength than you ever thought you had.
Experiences are missed when you are too closed to experience them.
To be in the moment of now you have to be willing to experience now.
There is nothing you have to do except to feel all that there is to feel right now.
Come deeply into the moment.
Perhaps the questions and answers can bring you an experience simply by reading it more than once.
Here is My Atlanta Shyama’s question.
Can you teach me about prayer? I know that prayer is powerful to those that pray and those who are prayed for. Yet I am missing something about how to tap into the depth of it, about communicating in real depth and actually instead of just saying words or opening up my heart to God. What am I missing? Please teach me more about prayer, It feels like one of the most important things I can ever know yet I sort of just gloss over it in a casual way and I don’t want to do that any more.
ANSWER
First of all my Shyama, your question is much to long.
You said the same thing over and over,
The sentence that says it all is that will you teach me about prayer?
Then you do not have to go over the question you asked.
Your question would have been deep and then you would have the answer.
There is nothing wrong with being open to God.
If I just answered the question with these words and you listened, your heart would then be more open.
So the way you truly learn about prayer is to listen to yourself as you are praying.
To really get into it, you can think about the words you are saying and perhaps the person you are praying for.
For instance say you are praying from the bottom of your heart for World Peace.
See in your mind how the world would be with out war and feel the calmness and beauty of it at peace time.
This shows who ever you are praying to that you really want to understand your own prayers.
You get a feeling of being listened to.
You begin to listen to others when you are not praying.
You get a certain vibration when you are starting to love to pray.
My Shyama, you can actually know that in time and in some way your prayers will be answered.
At times one can feel that your prayers can not be heard yet if you pray from your heart you will find out that they are being listened to.
Along with prayer there is also puja.
Moving prayer.
It is like having a date with God or Goddess.
You light the candles, you burn the incense and you ask the Gods to listen to you.
This is called the preparation for prayer.
Then truly ask.
Ask as if your life was depending on the asking.
A warmness will come over you.
And at other times the way to pray is in the moment.
There need not be a certain way to pray or words to say.
You just speak in the moment.
Sometimes this has to be practiced but it is well worth it.
You know even when you say to someone that you love them, that is kind of a prayer.
A prayer that the person will know that you truly love them.
Then words have different meanings, different feelings.
I am happy you asked.
Let me know in a month or two how your praying is going.
Some times a simple prayer like NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP.
It is sweet and real.
Or Hail Mary filled with grace the Lord is with you.
I love this one.
So many prayers.
It seems like just answering your question was a prayer for you from your Ma.
I love you all so very much.
My Pujas and Prayers are that you know this to be true
